Ellie Rome is the founder and lead facilitator of Comfort Zone Retreats, dedicated to creating spaces where people can unplug from the noise, reconnect with themselves, and step into new possibilities.
A former chemical engineer turned functional nutrition counselor and emotional eating coach, after transforming her own health and life through holistic practices, she felt called to guide others in doing the same. Ellie left her career in chemical engineering and spent 9 years coaching clients on gut health, autoimmune healing, emotional eating, and food/sugar addiction recovery.
Ellie is a certified yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator, and community builder who began hosting yoga, breathwork, and cold plunge events in Austin, TX in 2019. What started as small gatherings quickly grew into a thriving community of more than 4,000 people seeking connection, healing, and adventure.
Through Comfort Zone Retreats, Ellie blends her background in science, wellness, nutrition, and mindfulness with her passion for adventure, nature, and community.
Each retreat is designed to help participants reset their nervous system, explore the outdoors, cultivate meaningful habits, and engage in conscious conversations: all while surrounded by supportive people who are investing in their own growth.
Ellie believes in a holistic approach to wellness: one that integrates body, mind, and spirit, and she’s passionate about helping others build sustainable practices that ripple out into every area of life. I came to Glacier feeling completely depleted and disconnected. The cold plunges alone were worth the trip, but it was the combination of epic hikes, somatic breathwork, and genuine human connection that changed something in me. Standing at Grinnell Glacier, I remembered what I was capable of. Ellie and the team created such a safe, intentional container that I felt held every single step of the way. I left stronger, clearer, and more myself than I have felt in years.
"I was craving a reset but had no idea how deep this experience would go. The morning yoga and breathwork sessions cracked me open in the best way, and the group workshops helped me see patterns I had been carrying for years. Having Ellie and a licensed therapist guiding us made me feel completely safe to go to places I had been avoiding for a long time. This is not a vacation. It is a turning point."
"I have done a lot of personal growth work but nothing has moved me like this retreat. Something about doing hard things in nature alongside other growth-minded humans accelerated everything. Ellie and the facilitation team brought such warmth, skill, and genuine care to every session. The breathwork released grief I did not know I was holding, the meals nourished my body, and the friendships I made feel like they will last a lifetime."
"I almost talked myself out of applying. I am so glad I did not. I came in feeling stagnant and left feeling reset from the inside out. The daily rhythm of yoga, hiking, cold plunges, and intentional group work was exactly what my nervous system needed. Ellie and her team are the real deal, genuinely skilled and invested in every single person in that room. If you are on the fence, just apply. You will not regret it."
